For this Spring-Summer 2020 aspirational couture collection, Amphitrite is inspired by childhood memories and dreams of escapes to holiday nostalgia, introduced by the increasing feelings of isolation during current events. Driven by this conviction and the love of the sea, this unique collection evokes childlike feelings of awe, peace and joy by connecting to nature whilst distorting the current reality. 

 

The designs explore the idea of classical women’s silhouettes, with technical elements and manipulation techniques. The narrative is communicated in essence showcasing the interlinking ecosystem of the ocean which is reimagined through the use of textures, colours and materials- through hand embellishments, and textures of crisp ruffled taffeta.  Amphitrite transports the audience to experience an escape to the oceanside, through the narrative of a couture fashion collection.
